Alice's Ordinary People Film Screening & Discussion with the Filmmaker
In celebration of Black History Month, the LSCF is proud to present Alice’s Ordinary People, a documentary by Evanston filmmaker Craig Dudnick. Join us in person in Bobby’s Room on Thursday, February 26, at 3:00 pm for a special film screening and discussion with the filmmaker.
The film tells the story of Chicago-area activist Alice Tregay and her refusal to stand still in the face of injustice. From her time fighting against overcrowding in Chicago’s schools, marching with Martin Luther King, and offering Political Education classes, her life story reads like a history of the Civil Rights Movement. This documentary honors and emphasizes the essential work of Alice and her story of "ordinary people" affecting extraordinary change for human rights.
This in-person program is free to attend, but registration is required. Space is limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to LSC members.
