Crowd Enjoys Classical Fran Randall Concert

On Friday November 16, a delighted crowd enjoyed classical performances by impressive upcoming local musicians.

Harpist Katherine Ventura is based in Chicago and Pittsburgh. She has performed internationally as an orchestral and chamber musician, and as a soloist. Mexican-American soprano and Chicago native Angela Zúñiga also performed at the concert. Zúñiga is the 2017 recipient of the Lynne Harvey Foundation Scholarship, and just received a Masters in Vocal Perfor-mance from DePaul. Zúñiga was joined by Saori Chiba, on piano, renown for her ‘superb keyboard artistry’ according to the Chicago Daily Herald.

The Levy Senior Center Foundation is dedicated to bringing a variety of performances for our many enthusiastic music lovers at the Center. Be sure to join us at the Jamming Jean Concert on December 7 for a performance from award-winning musicians Corky Siegel and Howard Levy. Jamming Jean Concerts are all-ages free community events - bring the whole family for a fantastic Friday evening!

The next Fran Randall Concert is January 18 and will be welcoming Hyejin Joo on the piano and Audrey Lidke on the trumpet. Hyejin Joo, winner of the Concerto/Aria Competition, has performed with the Northwestern Symphony Orchestra and graduated from the University’s Bienen School of Music. Also performing is Audrey Lidke, a classically trained trumpet player, and graduate of the DePaul School of Music. Audrey uses her unique skills to create new twists on well-known tunes, incorporating her rich sound on the horn.
