Great news! The June 12 Levy Lecture has over 160 registered attendees. We have moved venues to the Levy Senior Center gymnasium to accommodate all of our wonderful guests. Now with plenty of extra seating, be sure to register for this popular event!
Benjamin Franklin once said that “in this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.” Yet while death remains a constant, attitudes about death are changing. More people now live well into retirement years; fewer deaths are “premature.”
More people now experience a full life, including the reduced resilience and vigor that comes with aging. In this presentation, Charles E. Gessert, MD, MPH, focuses on the fact of our mortality, examining both the benefits and burdens of being mortal, and discusses ways in which individuals and families can exercise a degree of autonomy in guiding their experiences as the end of life approaches.
Thanks to donations made to the Levy Senior Center Foundation, it is free to attend Dr. Gessert’s lecture, “A Matter of Life and Death: Embracing Mortality.” This lecture is on Tuesday, June 12 at 1 p.m. This Levy Lecture has been relocated to the Levy Senior Center gymnasium to accommodate all of our registered guests.
Reserve your place in one of three easy ways: register online, call (847) 448-8250 or stop by the center’s front desk.
